How long are the classes?

The duration of each class is stated on the booking calendar.

~ Baby Spa sessions are 1 hour 15 minutes.

~ Baby massage classes are all 6o minutes for 5 weeks.

What age does my baby need to be to attend a baby spa?

Babies who are between 6 weeks and 13 months of age. Babies younger than 6 weeks of age may find the class overstimulating and babies over 13 months of age will likely be too big for our baths.

What age does my baby need to be to attend baby massage classes?

Babies can attend from 6 weeks to pre-crawling.

Do I need to wait until after my '6 week Health Visitor check' before attending?

We would prefer for babies to have had their '6 week check' before attending.

How many babies will be in a baby spa?

A maximum of 5 babies will attend an experience - venue dependent due to space. This is to ensure that our classes remain small and intimate.

How many babies will be in a baby massage class?

A maximum of 8 babies will attend, depending on the size of the venue.

How many adults can attend?

A maximum of 2 adults can attend with each baby for a baby spa and 1 adult can attend with their baby at baby massage classes.

Can I book for more than one baby?

Yes, you can book for up to 5 babies on each booking form. Please make it clear which adult is responsible for each baby.

I've got twins (or triplets, or more). Do you offer a discount?

A £5 discount will be given for twin bookings and £8 for triplet bookings. Please email hello@borntospa.co.uk for a discount code.

Please note that this is specific for babies from a 'multiple pregnancy' only.

Can I bring other children with me?

Only babies that have been booked onto an experience will be permitted to enter the venue. No other children can attend unless this has been advertised on Social Media posts by Born to Spa.

Can my baby attend a spa or massage class if they have recently had immunisations?

Babies can attend if they have had an immunisation more than 24 hours prior (except for the Rotavirus Vaccine - see below) to the sessions they are attending.

The Rotavirus vaccine is given orally (by mouth) at 8 weeks and 12 weeks of age. Due to this method of administration, the virus can pass through your baby's gut and therefore be transferred to whoever changes their nappy as well as onto surfaces.

Although we pride ourselves in the thorough sanitisation of our equipment before each session, due to the nature of the services we offer, babies must wait 14 days after receiving the Rotavirus immunisation before attending a session.

Please see the NHS website for more information about this if you are unsure.

What should I bring with me?

Please bring your baby's normal changing bag - nappies, wipes, nappy bags etc..

For baby massage courses, you might like to bring a towel or blanket for baby to lie on as it will have a familiar smell of home on it which your baby may find comforting.

Does my baby need to bring a swim nappy for a baby spa?

This is optional. Please bear in mind that there will be other adults in the room and so if you would prefer your baby to wear a swim nappy, this is fine.

What detergent is our linen washed in?

We use non-biological fabric detergent and fabric softener that is cruelty free, using plant-based ingredients, vegan friendly and most importantly, suitable for sensitive skin. A list of ingredients can be found in our Terms and Conditions.

What massage oil do you use?

Organic sunflower oil.

Can I bring my own oil to massage my baby?

Yes, but it must not be a nut-based oil and products should not be used in the bath.

What does the bonding baby massage involve at a Baby Spa?

You will be taught how to perform a leg massage on your baby by a Qualified Baby Massage Instructor.

A full body massage is not taught as many babies, particularly babies who have not been massaged before, would find it overwhelming.

Being the least sensitive body part, massaging the legs is the most appropriate massage to perform in our classes. This is because some babies may not have been massaged before, and therefore as all Baby Massage Instructors know, the legs are always the first area to be massaged.

What are the benefits of a leg massage in the baby spa sessions?

Babies' legs are the most active parts of the body and so massaging the legs relaxes the muscles and eases tension. Massaging babies' feet stimulates reflex points.

Can I cancel or reschedule my experience?

Due to the nature of our business, bookings are final and cannot be cancelled or rescheduled, as per our Terms and Conditions.
